Woman survives tree falling on house

TULSA, Okla. — A tree fell on a woman’s home during a heavy storm on Nov. 3. The homeowner said he was thankful the woman was okay.

“I was scared. I thought about what to do now,” Bogash said.

Bogash said that he has lived in his home for 48 years and that the strong winds caused by the storm created a moment he will never forget.

“Everything went black. I heard a huge wind noise and I fell off my bed onto the floor,” Bogash said.

The tree was so large it blocked every entry and exit point, Bogash said. His only option was to call the fire department and that’s when his fences were cut down to get him out safely.

“He narrowly missed me. Yeah, he went in and almost hit me. I was on the bed and he almost hit me, so I’m lucky,” Bogash said.

Bogash’s family says the tree also crushed his car, but it could be saved. Bogash said it’s impossible to know how long it will take to remove the tree or repair his home.
