Comedian who called Trump the C word dies at 63

Scottish comedian Janey Godley, famous for carrying a banner called Donald Trump The C-word died of ovarian cancer at the age of 63, according to her daughter’s statement.

Godley rose to international fame in 2016, before he was elected, by holding a banner outside the former Trump-owned Turnberry Golf Resort in Scotland that read “Trump is a c—“.

He repeated the same thing in October when he posted a photo of himself in bed, intubating and holding a T-shirt that read “Trump is still a c—.”

Godley rose to viral fame with dubbed videos of Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s Covid briefings during the pandemic.

Inside a BBC documentary Godley, who goes by “Janey”, talked about her impending death.

“I don’t know how to feel… I don’t know what it is to die,” he said. “The great thing is that no one knows what is there, so I can’t rely on a TripAdvisor recommendation because no one knows what it is because no one has gotten back to us. So this will be the end.”

Daughter Ashley Storrie thanked Godley’s “found family” for their support “during these last terrible days”.

Storrie said in a video posted on social media: “I wanted to tell you face to face because I felt so strongly about what he would want. “He has gone peacefully and I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.

He thanked Godley’s followers for their kindness and support.

“I believe with all my heart that he felt every ounce of love you sent him,” he said. “I think that kept him going, we really kept him around longer because of all the support and love in the world.”
