TCU Football Suffers Bitter Loss Against Baylor

Two years removed from one of the most iconic hits TCU football history, Baylor Bears created its own history Isaiah Hankins He kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired to win 37-34 and the Baylor faithful stormed the field.

Both teams got stalled on their opening drives but the Frogs advanced down the field which resulted in a touchdown. Jordan Bailey. Bailey leaped into the air and made an incredible one-handed catch to give TCU a 7-0 lead. Baylor took its next drive 65 yards into the end zone, capped by an 8-yard score. Bryson Washington.

The TCU defense had no answers for Washington as he rushed 26 times for 196 yards and four touchdowns. He made a 40-yard approach to the end zone, giving the Bears a 13-7 lead. TCU will retake the lead Jeremy Payne I insulted someone and Josh Hoover The Frogs were ahead 17-13 at halftime.

In the second half, Baylor had an answer every time TCU threw a punch. Tied at 20 all, the Horned Frogs took a pair of penalties that netted them 35 yards. On a big fourth and two, savion williams scored a goal pass Jack Bech We are ahead 27-20. Williams became the first Horned Frog to have a receiving, rushing and passing touchdown in a season since 2017.

The teams went back and forth as neither defense was able to come up with consistent stops. With less than five minutes remaining and trailing by seven points, Hoover was forced to step up again. On 4th-and-3 and the play at the line, Hoover forced Williams to complete a 17-yard completion to keep the game alive, and on the next play Bech caught the game-tying pass.

But Baylor still had 1:55 to work with. A pass was broken up on 3rd and 9 Jevon McIver Jr.. setting up what everyone thought would be a gamble. But, Dave Aranda He risked everything and decided to go for it, and that decision paid off to set up the game-winning field goal.

On a night when the Horned Frogs didn’t turn the ball over and the offense was dazzling, the defense couldn’t produce enough stops to win this game. I definitely felt a setback after I felt like the defense had turned a corner. There was also a critical drop by Savion Williams early in the game that would lead to a touchdown. Hoover had arguably his best game of the season, completing 25 of 34 passes for 333 yards and two touchdowns. Hoover said it wasn’t all about defense and that it was a team loss.

This marks another frustrating loss for TCU and a game they absolutely should have won. They are currently 1-3 against in-state opponents this season. They fell to 11th in the Big 12 standings. On the positive side, the offense has definitely made progress and hopefully they can improve on Saturday’s performance.

TCU will return home for a game next Saturday Oklahoma State. Kickoff time on FS1 is set for 6:00.
