Panthers Continue to Leave the Door Open to Andy Dalton After Bryce Young’s Standout Game

The Carolina Panthers still aren’t ready to commit to Bryce Young.

The second-year quarterback got off to his best start of the season as Carolina beat the New Orleans Saints 23-22 on Sunday. Young completed 16 of 26 passes for 171 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He led a 64-yard touchdown drive in the final few minutes to give the Panthers their second win of the season.

Following the game and Young’s encouraging performance, head coach Dave Canales was asked if he would make him the starting quarterback moving forward. Canales wasn’t ready to commit to him.

The first-year head coach said he had to look at everything and watch game film before making a decision. Canales said he was “proud” of the step Young took on the play.

The Panthers made Young the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL draft, and it’s been a bumpy road ever since. Andy Dalton started five games this season The young man was placed on the bench due to poor performance. Thumb injury sidelined DaltonHe opens the door again for Young.
