PARIS (AP) — Zakaria Aboukhlal’s late goal gave Toulouse a 1-0 win over Reims in the French league on Sunday, extending the southern team’s unbeaten run to three matches.

Reims had a chance to break into the top five but Aboukhlal’s goal instead led to the Champagne team’s third consecutive defeat.

Aboukhlal scored with a fine shot over the Reims goalkeeper in the 84th minute.

Toulouse ranked 12th, two points behind Reims, with 12 points from 10 matches.

Paris Saint-Germain moved six points clear at the top by beating Lens 1-0 on Saturday.

Abouhlal was decisive again after scoring against Montpellier last week. He scored four goals in the last four league matches.

Montpellier lost again

Montpellier, which was in last place in the fight between the two competing teams, lost 1-0 to the second-to-last Le Havre.

The home team suffered its fifth consecutive defeat to Montpellier, ending its six-game losing streak.

Abdoulaye Toure gave Montpellier a five-point lead with the goal he scored from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute.

Additionally, Gaetan Perrin scored two goals as Auxerre defeated Rennes 4-0 in the mid-table match.

Marseille, who lost 3-0 to PSG last weekend, traveled to Nantes late on Sunday.
