Deputies say an Evansville man is facing felony charges after stealing tools from Hope Depot

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville man is facing more than a dozen charges after deputies say he stole multiple items from Hope Depot.

On October 30, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Home Depot on Pearl Drive for a report of a theft.

A loss prevention officer told authorities that Ronnie D. White II and two other men wanted to be banned from the store.

An investigation led deputies to surveillance video allegedly showing White and another man trying to leave the store with a cart full of power tools.

Deputies say the video shows one of the suspects leaving the store behind after being confronted by the loss prevention officer.

During an interview with authorities, one of the suspects told deputies that White was involved in six other burglaries at the same Overseas location.

A few days later, deputies took White into custody and questioned him about the burglaries.

Deputies say White identified himself and the other suspect in photos on security video.

White allegedly told detectives he sold the tools he stole at a discounted price on Facebook Marketplace and to people he “encountered.”

Ronnie Delmonte White II, 30, was arrested Saturday and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail without bail.

He faces seven counts of Organized Burglary and seven counts of Burglary (Unrelated Prior Convictions).
