Two water metro boats collided while passing each other near the Fort Kochi terminal in Kochi, Kerala, causing the alarms and security systems on board to be disabled.

Passengers were evacuated by authorities without any injuries.

The collision occurred when a boat coming from the High Court collided with another boat heading towards the same station.

In the statement, it was stated that the authorities had ordered an investigation to determine the reasons behind the incident.

In May 2023, a Kochi water metro boat got stranded in backwaters during its journey from Kakkanad to Vyttila after experiencing a technical problem.
