An elderly woman was strangled and another was forced to eat dog biscuits during violent attacks on a war memorial in Perth.

The women were the victims of three separate attacks near the War Memorial in Kings Park on Saturday.

In the first attack, police allege a woman in her 50s was indecently assaulted by an unidentified woman who then threw her mobile phone into water.

Five minutes later another woman, also in her 50s, was walking her dog near the monument when she was allegedly kicked and punched several times before being hit in the face with a water bottle.

It was claimed that the attacker forced the dog biscuits into its mouth after kicking the dog.

Shortly after, police said a woman in her 70s who was visiting the monument was also attacked.

It was alleged that he was indecently assaulted by a woman, who then put her arm around his neck and had difficulty breathing.

WA police arrested a 41-year-old woman at the scene and charged her with a number of offenses including unlawful and indecent assault and cruelty to animals.

He was refused bail and was expected to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday afternoon.
