Agatha All Along: How did Agatha obtain the Darkhold? Nicholas Scratch theory explained

The Agatha All Along finale tied up a lot of loose ends, but there’s still the question of how the titular character got hold of the Darkhold in the first place. (Warning: spoilers ahead!)

The journey on the Witches’ Path was long and tragic. Agatha from start to finish Fans with heartache as well as hopes for the future. We finally got a look at Agatha’s son Nicholasalso a tease about Billy continuing to search for Tommy.

But there was something marvel show I never approved it and it happened this way Agatha He obtained the Darkhold, a powerful book of ancient magic. This was dark magic at its deadliest, and many hoped to find out how it came into his possession.

The program didn’t give a clear answer, but there were already plenty of clues that might have provided an answer.

The Darkhold’s origin is still unconfirmed in the MCU

Agatha’s possession of the Darkhold is still a mystery, as neither WandaVision nor Agatha All Along have revealed how she obtained this powerful book.

To summarize, Darkhold was first WandaVision. It was in Agatha’s possession, which allowed her to manipulate and avoid Wanda’s powers. Wanda soon steals the Darkhold, and in the post-credits scene in the series, Wanda is seen examining it.

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Wanda uses the book to learn about the multiverse. He wants to use his powers to locate his children, Billy and Tommy. After realizing her evil nature, Wanda destroys all variants of the Darkhold, killing herself in the process.

The Darkhold later reappeared in Agatha All Along, specifically in a traumatic vision experienced by Agatha. It was assumed that the woman who saw the Darkhold instead of a baby in the cradle traded her son Nicholas for possession of the book, painting him as a selfish and manipulative figure.

However, it later turned out that this was not the case at all. By Episode 9, Agatha’s heartbreaking past had been fully explored, revealing: his son was kidnapped by Death (Rio) was supposed to die in childbirth.

Although the program does not confirm how he actually acquired the book, some theories suggest that Nicholas was somehow involved in the exchange. And if true, this could complicate Agatha’s moral situation even further.

Darkhold theories explained

The biggest theory regarding the Darkhold is that Agatha may have made a deal to take it in exchange for his child, but then changed her mind after she became pregnant.

Of course, there may be another explanation for Agatha’s possession of the Darkhold. But if there is still a connection to be made in Agatha All Along, then it is most likely to be with Nicholas Scratch.

Although the rumors that Agatha had traded her son for the Darkhold were proven untrue (Agatha very much wanted to keep Nicholas), perhaps she had made her offer earlier.

It is possible that Agatha made a deal with Death (or another being) to trade the life of her firstborn child for the Darkhold. However, when she got pregnant, she changed her mind and decided that she wanted to give birth to the baby she already loved.

So when Death appeared in childbirth, she begged for his life and received more time in return. Ultimately, Death would appear to take Nicholas six years later, according to the agreement.

If Agatha made a deal for the Darkhold before giving birth, that might explain why Death showed up to claim Nicholas.

This theory seems to be the strongest among fans. As a Reddit user wrote: “Long before his son was born, I assumed he made a deal that his first child’s life would be forfeited in exchange for the Darkhold. So Rio came to collect his debt.”

“I’m guessing she made a deal with Death before or during the pregnancy, she regretted it during the birth which led her to beg Death not to take her,” another wrote. “That’s why Death said, ‘I’m sorry, I can only give you time, the deal is made, I’ll have to take the child at some point.’ After Nicky dies, Agatha removes the Darkhold from this process off-screen.”

But another theory revolves around Agatha getting the Darkhold after Nicholas died either to bring her back or to never meet her in the afterlife.

This is one of his greatest fears, so it makes sense that he seeks this power to give himself an advantage. Equally, this could have been an act of revenge, seeking dark magic to bring him back or alleviate his pain and wrath.

The only problem with either theory is that we never see her get the Darkhold in Agatha All Along or WandaVision, so MCU He might have an idea where the Darkhold came from.

If Scarlet Witch If she does get a solo movie (as many hope she will), then we might get a full statement from Agatha herself.
