Sheriff says driver died in Madison Township

CINCINNATI (WXIX) -A driver is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Madison Township Friday night, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.

Sheriff Jones said deputies and the Madison Township Fire and Survival Team were called to the 2400 block of Woodsdale Road around 11 p.m.

Sheriff Jones said preliminary investigations showed that the driver of the black Jeep swerved off the roadway as the vehicle went over an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll over.

There were two people in the Jeep, the driver and the passenger.

Sheriff Jones said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is not yet known whether drugs, alcohol or speed played a role in the crash.

Deputies have not announced any names at this time.

The investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
