Man killed, six people taken to hospital in crash at junction in Cornwall

One person died and six people were taken to hospital after two cars collided at a junction in Cornwall.

An 18-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by careless driving while impaired by drink or drugs.

Devon & Cornwall Police said officers, along with ambulance and fire services, were called to reports of a collision involving two black Seat Ibizas near the B3266 between St Tudy and St Breward at around 11.15pm on Friday.

A 19-year-old young man sitting in the front seat of one of the vehicles died at the scene. His relatives were informed.

Police said the six people taken to hospital were thought to have minor injuries.

The Bodmin man, who was arrested following the incident, has been released on bail pending further investigation.
