Shocking photo shows police arrest Wolverhampton minibus driver suspected of stealing thousands of pounds from elderly person

A Wolverhampton minibus driver was arrested by West Midlands Police officers from the force’s new Roads Policing Unit.

The crime-fighting team targets serious and organized criminals using the roads, while also reducing the root causes of serious and fatal collisions. They work on high-performance unmarked cars.

The minibus driver, from Wolverhampton, was among the first suspects arrested by the Roads Policing Unit.

Officers said the driver was suspected of being involved in the distraction theft of thousands of pounds from an elderly person in Wolverhampton. Cash was seized following his arrest.

A spokesperson for WMP said: “We are increasing the number of Road Crime Squads from two to three to increase our ability to tackle serious and organized crime, thieves stealing vehicles from people’s driveways, drug dealers on county lines and other major crime.

“And in a first for power, they will use smaller, high-performance, unmarked cars to keep up the pace.”
