Crime Fighters 6abc: Montgomery County couple searches for missing son Amir Rashid, last seen in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A Montgomery County couple is asking for the public’s help after their son went missing in Philadelphia in late September.

Tariq and Rhonda Rashid are looking for their son Amir.

The 28-year-old man reportedly left his home in the 1500 block of Page Street in North Philadelphia about a month ago. He hasn’t been seen since.

“He had an argument with his girlfriend. It seemed to be about her infidelity,” Tariq said.

Some of Amir’s movements were recorded on Temple University cameras.

“Last seen on camera was Temple’s on Dauphin Street approaching Broad Street around 12:41 a.m. on Monday, September 23,” Rhonda said.

Amir was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, gray shorts and a black backpack.

His family says he was a social person with a wide network of friends.

“He has many, many friends who were the first to sound the alarm,” Rhonda said. “What’s going on? We haven’t heard from him. This can’t happen.”

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Chief’s whereabouts.

All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

“We are encouraged by the love we have received and shared, and we are grateful for it. We also know that people can be moved to share what they know,” Rhonda said.

His family has a message for Amir.

“We can’t wait to see you because we love you. We miss you and we know you can be home at any moment and we are ready,” Tarik added.
