CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) – A man is dead and three others were injured following a head-on crash in Clackamas County on Friday, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 5 p.m., deputies responded to the 15000 block of South Springwater Road, south of the Carver area. They found a crashed 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The driver of the PT Cruiser, identified as 22-year-old Ryan Edward Bloomster of Estacada, was killed in the crash. A 22-year-old woman, who was a passenger on the PT Cruiser, was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The Dodge was driven by a 51-year-old Happy Valley man and carried a 12-year-old passenger. The driver and passenger of the Dodge were also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

After an initial investigation, deputies said they believed the crash occurred because Bloomster, the driver of the PT Cruiser, failed to negotiate the curve.

Detectives are still working to determine whether speed or impairment was a factor, deputies said.
