The first food waste collection begins in the new garbage system

Food waste collection will begin in some areas in north-east Cornwall, council bosses said.

A Facebook post Cornwall Council’s new bin system for towns including Bodmin, Padstow and Launceston will start on Monday.

The new system, which has been introduced across Cornwall, aims to reduce the amount of non-recyclable rubbish produced in the county by turning food waste into farmyard manure and clean energy, the council said.
