METHUEN, MASS. (WHDH) – Authorities are investigating a serious crash on Interstate 495 in Methuen Saturday morning that left two people dead and two others hospitalized, state police said.

According to police, officers responding to a crash on the north side of the highway around 6:12 a.m. found a pickup truck with four people inside crashing into a tree in the median.

It was determined that one person died at the scene. Another was pronounced dead in the hospital. Treatment of 2 of the non-life-threatening injuries continues.

The names of none of the deceased victims have been released.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
