BBC Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor’s cause of death is 44 years old | Celebrity News | Showbiz and TV

Heartfelt tributes to late Strictly Come Dancing star Robin Windsor poured in after her death was announced in February, aged just 44.

Windsor performed as one of the pros on Strictly Come Dancing between 2010 and 2013, becoming a popular fan favorite despite failing to win the show.

Although details of her death have not been officially confirmed, tributes from friends have reported that Windsor was struggling following her departure from Strictly and spoke openly about her mental health issues.

Kristina Rihanoff, Windsor’s absolute pro and dance partner, shared an emotional message on Instagram after his death was confirmed.

She told how she was “moved by his kindness” and remains “deeply grateful” for his support through difficult times on the popular show.

He wrote: “He always found a way to lift my spirits. “But when she was left Strictly, her own spirit was completely destroyed and it was at this point that I started to see changes in her personality, depression and broken self-worth.”

Windsor abruptly left the dance show in 2014 after recovering from back surgery.

He previously shared that he felt he had no choice but to leave the series due to health and safety concerns, saying the decision “broke my heart.”

Rihanoff’s tribute continued: “Many of you who went to see his farewell tour know full well that he spoke very openly about his mental health issues.

“The truth is he was an incredible person and it’s an absolute tragedy that he felt there was no way out.”

Windsor’s family issued a series of statements following his death, requesting privacy and calling for an end to “regrettable speculation”.

The family acknowledged Windsor was “a strong advocate for mental health” and added that “the dance world had lost some of its luster” following her death.
