Annual Mission Sunday held at Broadmoor United Methodist Church | Society

SHREVEPORT, La. – The annual Mission Marketplace was held Friday and Saturday at Broadmoor United Methodist Church and Highland Center in Shreveport.

A coalition of six churches in the Shreveport community collaborated to organize and host the Marketplace. Attendees found a wide variety of unique, handmade items for sale, including jewelry, baskets, toys, home decor, bath and body products, gifts, Christmas ornaments, scarves, clothing, purses, soup mixes, coffees, teas, chocolate and more. .

All items sold were new and handmade; most were fair trade and supported programs and organizations such as Equitable Exchange, Kenya Maasai, Haiti Aid, Women’s Bean Project, Thistle Farms, Ten Thousand Villages, Rahab’s Rope, African Baskets, Isaiah 55, and more. and Minga Peru.

Local organizations such as Evergreen Life Services, Holy Angels, Noel Food Pantry, Louisiana United Methodist Family and Children’s Services, Community Renewal, The Hub/Rise Up & Roast, and Noel Community Arts Program also participated by selling items that benefit their programs.
