Ludhiana: State government focuses on skill development: Sond

Sond emphasized that the Punjab government is focusing on skill development of youth across the state and aims to enable individuals to live with self-respect and dignity, inspired by the teachings of Lord Vishwakarma.

Industry and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond honored the legacy of divine architect Lord Vishwakarma at a state-level celebration held at Lord Vishwakarma Temple at Miller Ganges in Ludhiana on Saturday. Sond talked about Lord Vishwakarma’s immense contributions to craftsmanship and engineering and stated that the deity is the foundation of global industrial and infrastructural progress.

MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi, deputy commissioner Jatinder Jorwal and other prominent leaders and community members attended the celebration.

Sond emphasized that the Punjab government is focusing on skill development of youth across the state and aims to enable individuals to live with self-respect and dignity, inspired by the teachings of Lord Vishwakarma. He added that skill development initiatives are necessary to effectively honor the principles and teachings of Lord Vishwakarma.

MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi urged the youth of Punjab to improve their skills to embrace new job opportunities. DC Jatinder Jorwal further supported the cause by paying tribute to the temple.

sond explained He promised a grant of ₹ 5 lakh and assistance for other necessary works in the temple. The minister also honored notable industrialists including Avtar Singh Birdi, Raghbir Singh Sambi, Jagir Singh, Parmjeet Singh, Sandeep Singh and others for their contributions. Bhupinder Singh Sambi was awarded the Vishwakarma Award. Sewing machines were also distributed to poor women as part of the temple’s social service initiatives.

The temple committee, led by chairman Ranjit Kumar Sall, general secretary Ashish Dhiman Sall and Amarjit Singh Tikka, expressed gratitude, stating that the event highlighted the lasting impact of Lord Vishwakarma on the society.
