Significant jet energy extends from the backside of an upper trough that slowly shifted eastward over the Great Basin earlier this weekend.

A jet wave over Arizona on Saturday night and Sunday will enter the bottom of the trough, leaving Southern California with large-surface protruding buildings from the Central California Valley to the Central Great Basin.

Strong upper-level support and offshore pressure gradients on Sunday will support damaging 60-80 mph winds from the northwest to north I-5 corridor through the Ventura County Mountains into the Santa Barbara County Interior Mountains and eastern Santa. As a result, a High Wind Warning has been issued for Santa Barbara County until 6pm on Sunday.
