As for her take on Apollonia, aside from the black jumpsuit and purple thigh-high boots, the “Naughty Girl” ditched her blonde hair for big black curly tresses to mimic the Apollonia 6 singer’s look.

Of course, many gave Queen Bey the ingredients to effortlessly pull off the iconic look. But others were not as approving.

“I’m trying to be relevant,” a fourth person wrote, while several other detractors thought she didn’t do Prince justice.

But not all the comments were bad. “I love it!” One fan shared this, and then another said: “He killed this!” wrote.

“I’m not a fan but I actually like this,” another person said.

Beyoncé had the chance to perform with Prince at the 2004 Grammy Awards, 12 years before his tragic death. They performed a medley of their songs such as “Purple Rain”, “Crazy In Love”, “Let’s Go Crazy”.
