BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle collision that left one person dead.

The collision happened around 6:20 a.m. Saturday on Cainhoy Road near Cedar Hill Road.

Master Trooper Gary Miller said the 2002 GMC SUV was traveling west on Cane Hoy Road when it went off the right side of the road, lost control and overturned.

It was determined that the driver, the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
