WYTHE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Burger Express in Max Meadows was destroyed by fire on Wednesday, October 30th.

The Max Meadows Volunteer Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 4 p.m. According to the statement of the fire brigade, the crews found the single-storey structure greatly affected.

Firefighters said the aggressive attack was initiated by multiple lines and all occupants were outside the restaurant.

According to the statement of the fire brigade, the restaurant became completely unusable and the cause of the fire could not be determined.

It was learned that there were no injuries in the fire.

Wytheville Fire and Rescue Department and Ivanhoe Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the call.

Burger Express staff released the following statement:

“Most people know, but we have faced an unimaginable loss as our beloved restaurant burned down. We are incredibly grateful to the brave firefighters who responded quickly and to everyone who reached out with calls, prayers and unwavering support. Your kindness has been our strength in this difficult moment. Although our doors are closed for now, our hearts are open and we are determined to rebuild. “We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being with us.”
