A pedestrian was taken to hospital in critical condition following a crash in Surrey on Friday night.

The incident took place at around 20:00 at the intersection of 144 Street and 88 Boulevard. The driver of a pickup truck made a left turn from street to street and struck a pedestrian, “resulting in serious injuries,” Surrey RCMP said in a news release.

“The pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition,” the statement said. The statement is included.

“The driver of the truck is cooperating with the police.”

Police said the investigation was at a “very early stage”. They ask anyone with additional information, including dashcam footage from the area, to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote case number 24-162958.
