Two last-place NFL teams struggling in their rookie quarterbacks’ first seasons will face off on Sunday when the Tennessee Titans host the New England Patriots.

Even though both offenses have constant scoring problems, Patriots vs. Patriots this week is why I like the Over. I’ll show it in my Titans predictions.

my analysis
They just don’t have fans New England Patriots And Tennessee Titans There hasn’t been much to get excited about this year, but it hasn’t been much fun watching these two teams play. The Titans averaged just 17.1 points per game this season, while New England was even worse with just 15.5 points.

But these numbers don’t tell the whole story. These teams are also mostly terrible defensively, which gives me reason to think these offenses will find at least limited success this Sunday.

Both teams are trying to help rookie quarterbacks get into the rhythm of the NFL game; This is something that is difficult when they are under constant pressure.

Titans QB worth considering Will Levis and Patriots signal caller Drake Maye There are uncertainties for Sunday’s game: Maye remains in concussion protocol while Levis deals with a shoulder injury. But neither produced much, and I wouldn’t expect any loss or perhaps even a slight increase in production if their journeyman replacements came into play.

Regardless of who takes the photos, both backup QBs should enjoy relatively comfortable games. The Patriots are producing just 1.9 sacks per game, while the Titans are doing slightly better with 2.0 sacks per game.

While the Titans have a statistically solid defense in almost every metric except scoring, their quarterbacks are relatively effective against them, allowing opponents to post a 93.8 passer rating. New England, meanwhile, is allowing 7.3 yards per pass, one of the worst numbers in the league.

Tennessee should also be able to run the ball against a mediocre Patriots running game, which could give the Titans the edge in this contest. But overall, both teams will find opportunities to move the ball as they do not shut down their defensive units.

From a scoring standpoint alone, these teams have generally been playing above Sunday’s low total lately. The Titans have scored 41 or more points in total in seven of their last eight games; The Patriots have scored 43 or more total touchdowns in five of their last seven games. I’m not saying it’s going to be a shootout, but 38 points aren’t enough to scare me away from Over.

Titans -3.5

Tony Pollard can score at any time

I like Over in this matchup, but I also think the Titans are the obvious choice. That’s why I’m combining two bets for the same match on Sunday.

The Titans are playing at home and have the defensive tools to stop New England, whereas I think Tennessee has at least a few weapons to give the Patriots trouble.

The most obvious of these is running back Tony PollardHe was the best option for a Titans team that wasn’t very good at moving the ball through the air.

Pollard has three goals this year and is taking the lion’s share of shots, which puts him in a good position to score again on Sunday. Whether it’s long term or just in a goal-line situation, I expect Pollard to find the end zone.
