BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) – A DeWitt woman was killed in a fatal crash on I-69 in Eaton County Saturday morning.

Michigan State Police said at 10:20 a.m., troopers from the Lansing station were dispatched to the area of ​​northbound I-69 near Vermontville Hwy for a single-vehicle crash.

According to Michigan State Police, a 77-year-old DeWitt woman driving a 2023 Kia Sportage was traveling north on I-69 when she experienced a medical issue that caused her to swerve and crash, causing her death. .

Police said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, both Northbound and Southbound I-69 are closed between Hartel and Lansing Rd. Police warn motorway travelers to find another route.
