Needle and toothpick found in two separate chocolate bars in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police warned the public after two separate chocolate bars with a needle and a toothpick were found in Cambridge.

Both chocolates were reported to the police on November 1.

Police said the first chocolate bar contained a toothpick and was reported by a caregiver around 6 p.m. The candy was collected near Rouse Boulevard and Kovac Road on October 31.

The second chocolate bar contained a needle and was reported by the caretaker at around 19:20. The candy was collected near Elgin Street North and Cassidy Court on October 31.

It was reported that no one was injured.

Police said caregivers were required to inspect the candies before eating them. Candies that appear to have been tampered with or are not in their original packaging should be discarded.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 ext. 2299.
