Scottish comedian Janey Godley has died, a month after she was moved to a hospice for end-of-life care, her manager said.

The 63-year-old, who rose to viral fame during the pandemic with dubbed parodies of Nicola Sturgeon’s COVID-19 news briefings, revealed last month that he was receiving end-of-life care for terminal cancer.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our client, Doctor Janey Godley, on November 2,” her representative said in a statement on Saturday.

“Janey died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at the wonderful Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and many fans.

“She will be remembered for her legendary voice as Nicola Sturgeon during the pandemic, for her hilarious and straightforward comedy, but most of all for just being ‘Janey’.”

In September, canceled the fall tour Due to stage four ovarian cancer, which was treated in the last few years but returned with additional complications.

At the time, Godley said: “It is devastating news to know that I am facing the end of my life, but one day we will all come to an end.

“I want to thank everyone who has supported the family, especially (daughter) Ashley and my husband.

“The overwhelming support has been incredible and I don’t know how long I have left before anyone asks. I’m not TikTok.”

“So, I just want you to know that I appreciate all the love and all the support you’ve given me. Cancer affects two in one person (apparently meaning one in two) and it affected me too.”
