In 2018, Reddit user alexbchillin took to the “mildly interesting” subreddit to share a truly horrifying image: the one that comes with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup definitely no peanut butter whatever is inside. It instantly sent shivers down the spines of candy lovers everywhere. Luckily, the brand quickly rectified the disaster by sending her a handwritten note saying it had delivered a large batch of (actually) peanut butter-filled treats and “enough chocolate AND peanut butter to cool things down between us.”

On Saturday, Reese’s announced it would be releasing a new “Deconstructed Peanut Butter Cup Kit” just in time for National Candy Day on November 4th. You can also serve them with “cold sweetened whipped cream” for something extra special, according to Torres.
