New York mother Chianti Means sent her children to Niagara Falls before committing suicide in a ‘deliberate’ act

“I’m not going to go into what the witnesses saw because this is still an active case, but what they told us is concerning,” O’Callaghan said at the press conference, according to the Niagara Gazette.

State and Park Police officers were called to Goat Island at 9:30 p.m. Monday after witnesses reported seeing a woman walking over the falls with her children.

According to the Niagara Gazette, investigators do not have current information on the motive or reason behind the act, but they are investigating whether a mental health crisis or mental health disorders played a role in the tragic incident.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting an investigation but does not expect any charges to be filed, the Niagara Gazette reported.

The fathers of Rome and Mecca are cooperating with investigators, according to the Niagara Gazette.

Investigators have not yet recovered the bodies of any of the victims.
