Kelowna RCMP seeking information after sewing needle found inside child’s Halloween candy – Kelowna News

A concerned parent alerted Kelowna RCMP after finding a sewing needle while checking out their child’s Halloween candy on Friday.

According to police, the needle was apparently dipped into a small piece of chewy candy and handed out to the child while trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

“Fortunately, the discovery was made while the parent was examining the candies and the child was not injured,” Media Relations Officer Sergeant Judith Bertrand said in a news release. he said.

The family was around Kneller Road and Hein Road in Kelowna while collecting candy.

“This is the only incident reported to the police,” Bertrand added. “But please remind your children not to eat treats until an adult has examined them.”
