LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Two Los Angeles police officers were injured Friday evening after gunfire broke out in the South Los Angeles area, authorities said.

The shooting was reported near the intersection of 92nd Street and Central Avenue around 9 p.m.

More detailed information about the shooting has not yet been released, but authorities say the officers may have suffered graze wounds or ricocheted gunshot wounds.

Police first responded to a report of armed robbery. Police said shots had been fired when they arrived at the scene.

One suspect remains in custody.
