SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – It’s a disease you can’t see, but millions of people are affected every year.

November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and National Caregiver Month. on November 1 First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport brought the community together for a memorial service to honor those who suffered from the disease.

“I was invited a few months ago. My wife and I live in Houston, and I was very touched to come to this because I don’t think there is another event like this in Shreveport that commemorates those who have died as a result of dementia,” said Jay Dauenhauer. participant.

As names were remembered, a bell rang in memory of each of the loved ones lost.

“Now, together with their savior, they are free from everything that binds them in this world.
