November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and National Caregiver Month. on November 1 First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport brought the community together for a memorial service to honor those who suffered from the disease.

“I was invited a few months ago. My wife and I live in Houston, and I was very touched to come to this because I don’t think there is another event like this in Shreveport that commemorates those who have died as a result of dementia,” said Jay Dauenhauer. participant.

As names were remembered, a bell rang in memory of each of the loved ones lost.

“Now, together with their savior, they are free from everything that binds them in this world. They are no longer in pain, they are no longer in pain, they are no longer suffering from Alzheimer’s, they are no longer separated from their loved ones and those who love them,” said Rev. Dr. Carl Rhoades.
