A 57-year-old Bargara woman died and four others were taken to hospital with serious injuries in a two-car crash in Kalkie, Queensland.

A woman died and four people were seriously injured when two cars collided in Queensland.

The fatal collision occurred at around 8.20pm on Friday at Kalkie in the Bundaberg Regional Council area, about 370 kilometers north of Brisbane.

A 2021 Mazda CX-8 and a 1994 Nissan Pathfinder are believed to have collided on Fe Walker Street, west of Ashfield Road.

A 57-year-old woman from nearby Bargara, who was in the Mazda at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering serious injuries.

Three other Bargara residents in the Mazda – a 63-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man – were taken to hospital.

A 46-year-old man from near Norville who was behind the wheel of the Nissan was also taken to hospital.

Queensland Police’s Forensic Crash Unit is piecing together the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist investigators, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
