Hutchinson, Minnesota, woman dies after crash on icy road – West Central Tribune

HUTCHINSON

— A woman died after a two-vehicle crash west of Hutchinson on Thursday.

Minnesota State Patrol,

Audrey Patricia Lankey, 77, of Hutchinson, was transported to Hutchinson Health Hospital for treatment but died from her injuries.

The crash occurred around 10 a.m. Thursday morning, as snow and rain were falling in parts of Minnesota. The State Patrol described road conditions as snowy and icy.

According to the report, Lankey was driving a Ford Ecosport westbound on Minnesota Highway 7 when he collided with an eastbound pickup truck near Vale Boulevard, about four miles west of Hutchinson.

The driver of the 2019 Ford F-550 pickup, Matthew Paul Alberts, 29, of Eden Prairie, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was also transported to the hospital in Hutchinson for treatment, according to the State Patrol.

He said both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not involved.

McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Hutchinson Police Department, Hutchinson Fire Department and Allina Ambulance assisted the Minnesota State Patrol at the scene.
