Diontae Johnson ‘breathed a sigh of relief’ after leaving Panthers for Ravens

Diontae Johnson traded Carolina Panthers To the Baltimore Ravens. The Panthers effectively paid most of his salary and sent him to the Ravens for a chance to move up about 10 picks, and he reportedly just wanted to move on. Apparently these feelings were mutual.

Diontae Johnson had an up-and-down tenure with the Panthers, even though he only lasted eight games. The wide receiver failed to throw a touchdown pass in the first two games as he struggled with tackle Bryce Young. The entry of Andy Dalton spurred him on to better performances, but these did not last long either. Now he’s on a new team and “a sigh of relief” about this.

“I was excited when I found out where I was going. Breathe easy. I’m ready to work.”

It’s no secret that the Ravens, who appeared in last year’s AFC Championship Game and have the reigning MVP award with Lamar Jackson, are in a better spot than the Panthers. That much was true when the Panthers brought in Johnson in the first place.

Things didn’t go as planned, as Johnson was supposed to be a major weapon to help Young’s development. Young was benched and the front office and coaching staff are fed up with Johnson, but luckily he isn’t upset about the transaction.
