    Updated Chinese J-15 fighter jet spotted in aircraft carrier exercise footage

    A more powerful and advanced version of China’s ship-based jet fighter appears to have entered service and is visible in official images. aircraft carrier exercisesAccording to one military analyst.
    The People’s Liberation Army Navy said the exercises were the first to be carried out by the country’s two aircraft carriers, without specifying when they took place: Liaoning And shandong – participated in a joint exercise on the high seas.

    The carriers were accompanied by at least 32 J-15s, China’s carrier-based fighter jets, as well as an escort squadron.

    Germany-based China military aviation analyst Andreas Rupprecht said at least nine of the 12 air fighters in the images were J-15Bs.

    “I must admit that I am still extremely excited to see (J-15Bs) finally enter service, and I can’t wait to see better images of them,” Rupprecht said.

    “But there is a downside. It appears that the J-15Bs are still using older AL-31F (engines) instead of the domestically produced WS-10 turbofans that are reportedly being tested,” he said.
