Homicide detectives say staff found woman’s body in room at luxury wellness resort

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY (Gray News) – A 33-year-old woman was found dead in the guest room of a luxury wellness resort in New York City on Monday, police said.

Suffolk County Police Department identified the victim She stars as Brooklyn native Sabina Rosas.

Homicide detectives said Rosas was found slain at the Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill on Montauk Highway.

Investigators determined Rosas was a “victim of violence” after a staff member at the resort found his body in a guest room, according to Suffolk County police.

Authorities identified the suspect in Rosas’ murder as 56-year-old Thomas Gannon. Police said on Wednesday: Gannon found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Honeysdale, Pennsylvania.

Law enforcement initially did not disclose the connection between Gannon and Rosas, but friends told WCBS he was obsessed with her as an artist.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Rosas to determine the exact cause of death.
