Man accused of arson in Sulfur church fire arrested

SULPHUR, Oklahoma (KXII) – A man has been arrested in connection with a church that was set on fire in Sulfur.

The Murray County Fire Chief says the fire at the Sheppard of the Hills Presbyterian church on Oct. 12 originated from multiple sources, leading them to believe it was arson.

Ethan Vanderburg, who allegedly admitted to starting the fire, was arrested at the scene.

Vanderburg faces multiple charges, including arson, second-degree burglary and endangering human life during arson.

He is in the Murray County Jail on $10,000 bail.
