Delhi Man Shot Killed While Celebrating Diwali at Nephew Shahdara’s House; 10-Year-Old Son Injured While Shooting

Delhi News: Diwali festivities took a tragic turn for a family who lost two members of their family when two gunmen opened fire outside their house in Delhi’s Shahdara on Thursday. 40-year-old Akash Sharma alias Chottu and his 16-year-old nephew Rishabh Sharma lost their lives in the incident that took place during Diwali celebrations in front of their house in Shahdara’s Farsh Bazar area around 8 pm.

According to the police, Akash Sharma’s 10-year-old son Krish Sharma also suffered bullet injuries in the firing.

“A police team was dispatched after receiving a PCR call around 8.30pm. The team found blood at the scene,” the official said.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers came on a scooter and touched Akash Sharma’s feet before opening fire. His son Krish and nephew Rishabh, who were standing nearby, were also hit by bullets.

All the victims were hospitalized, police said, adding that Akash Sharma and Rishabh Sharma were declared dead by doctors at the hospital while Krish Sharma received treatment.

Akash’s wife stated that she knew the attackers and that there had been a dispute between them about the land for many years.

DCP Shahdara Prashant said, “When we reached the spot, it was known that Akash, his nephew Rishabh and his son Krish had been shot. Akash and Rishabh lost their lives. During preliminary investigation, we found that five bullets were fired.” Gautam told news agency ANI.

According to the police, the incident at first glance appeared to be a case of personal hostility. Statements of family members of the victims will be recorded and further investigation will continue, officials added.
