Brooklyn Park police announced that one person died after a vehicle sank into a creek.

Brooklyn Park police said a man died after his car sank into a creek Thursday morning.

First responders were called to the crash around 8:25 a.m. at the intersection of Green Haven Drive and County Road 81. The person who called 911 said the vehicle had rolled over.

Upon arrival, first responders found the vehicle had left County Road 81, rolled over, and was submerged. Police said the stream was higher and faster than normal due to rain, although firefighters tried to pull the driver out.

While the tow trucks were pulling the vehicle from the stream, it was determined that the driver died at the scene.
