Family seeks answers after mother of six dies suspiciously

The death of a Boise native mother of six has left her family with questions and sparked discussions about domestic violence awareness.

According to a story by KHQ in Spokane, WA The death of Katelynn Poe, a mother of six originally from Boise, remains under investigation due to the circumstances surrounding her death and her injuries on Sept. 22.

According to Katelynn’s mother, Renee Poe, she received a call that Katelynn was at Providence Sacred Hart Hospital and that her daughter had suffered a serious brain hemorrhage and Renee had to go from Boise to Spokane.

Renee said she was told Katelynn “fell down the stairs,” but Renee said she questions what caused Katelynn’s injuries: “She was covered from head to toe, and when I say ‘head to toe,’ I mean black and blue from head to toe.”

“This story is also not consistent with the nature of the bruises and events that happened to my daughter while she was in the hospital. So I don’t know what to do. I want to know what happened to my baby,” Renee said. he said.

In the end, Renee lived every parent’s worst nightmare; She had to decide whether to keep her daughter alive on a ventilator and feeding tube for the rest of her life or let her die. On October 22, Katelynn passed away. His organs were donated.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Katelynn’s death.

Katelynn’s family will hold a memorial service on November 22, but it is unknown whether the ceremony will be held in Boise or Spokane.
