They said it started as a domestic incident on Oct. 8.

“Initially, Wallingford police were notified that a male had fallen and was bleeding from his head in the back parking lot of a local bar,” said Officer Alex Torres of Wallingford police. “The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital for further evaluation due to his visible injuries.”

The victim was then taken to another hospital to receive further care.

Detectives said they learned at that time that the victim had multiple serious injuries and was in the intensive care unit.

They researched and examined footage of the crime scene.

They said the video showed Rivera behind the wheel of a black Chevrolet Camaro.

“Rivera was driving at a high rate of speed with the victim on the hood of the Camaro,” Torres said. “While the Camaro was in motion, the victim fell off the hood and hit the curb, where he remained motionless.”

Police said Rivera looked at the victim for a moment and then fled the scene.
