Man accused of stabbing on RTS bus near Mall at Greek Ridge

GREECE, NY — An 18-year-old man is accused of stabbing a teenager during a fight on an RTS bus near the Mall at Greek Ridge.

Greek Police said the fight between two drivers occurred just before 7pm on Wednesday. City resident Nahziiryahzihn Ali was charged with assault and taken to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.

The 15-year-old boy, who was stabbed in the upper body, was taken to Strong Hospital. Police stated that the injuries were serious but not life-threatening.

RTS confirmed that the driver was not involved in the incident. RTS Public Information Officer Tom Brede said in a statement:

“The RTS team works hard every day to provide our customers with safe, reliable, convenient and sustainable transportation. It’s frustrating and unacceptable that someone would choose to resolve their differences by using violence on the bus and disrupting people who are trying to achieve important points in their lives. “Our thoughts are with our injured customer and we hope for a speedy recovery.”

Ali was arraigned in the Greek City Court. Police released the following mugshot of Ali:
