SGN says vehicle access to properties will be maintained

Eight-month work to replace a natural gas line along a road is scheduled to begin in mid-November.

Traffic restrictions will be in place during the seven-stage works on Woolsbridge Road in Ashley Heath, Dorset.

Gas company SGN said part of the road would be completely closed for phase one from Monday 18 November until Friday 20 December.

The company said the work involved replacing old metal gas pipes with new plastic pipes to “ensure we can continue to provide a safe and efficient gas supply”.

Parts of the road will also be closed to southbound traffic for the following six phases, which will last until Friday 11 July 2025.

SGN apologized for any inconvenience caused by the work.

Closings

Different sections of the road will be closed in seven stages.

  • Phase One: The road will be closed in both directions between the A31 junction and the Laurel Lane junction.

  • Phase three: Closed to southbound traffic from the intersection of Ashley Drive West to Hill Way
  • Stage four: Closed to southbound traffic from Hill Way junction to Gainsborough Road
