Feds announce more racketeering charges against street gangs

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9)Authorities will announce additional racketeering charges against gang members on Wednesday. A broader crackdown on criminal rings throughout the Twin Cities.

In May 2023, authorities filed charges against 45 members Of the Highs and Blood gangs. More indictments followed in August, with 14 more gang members facing charges.

Earlier this month, Three members of the Bloods gang in Minneapolis convicted St. The racketeering and firearms charges following a trial in federal court in St. Paul point to convictions in a broader federal crackdown on city gangs targeting the Highs, Lows and Bloods.

Highs and Lows generally operate on the north side of Minneapolis. Bloods, on the other hand, operates on the city’s south side, specifically near 38th Street and Chicago.

“The Minneapolis Bloods gang is a violent criminal organization. As the evidence proves, the defendants convicted today were members of this organization and committed violence and murder in its name.
