“Exciting, anxious, it’s been three months,” he said. “He’s my best friend, so I’m really looking forward to this.”

“We are all so emotional and excited to see him and welcome him home,” said Hannah Love.

I embrace him with hugs, tears and of course love.

This was seen at General Mitchell Air National Guard Base, where more than 100 soldiers were welcomed home after completing a mission in the Middle East.

It was a homecoming that Griffien Casper had been waiting for for months.

“I’m happy to be home,” Casper said. “Hug my family, my girlfriend, my parents, my brother.”

“I can’t even describe the joy and excitement I felt to see him land safely,” Mikayla Pascavis said. “And I finally got to hug him.”

While many hugged their loved ones, others were treated to an unexpected surprise, including an engagement.

“She said the right answer, so that’s a good thing,” said Nick Rocci, who proposed to Samantha Cardarelle.

“It was a big surprise, I absolutely loved it (and) I wasn’t expecting it,” she said. “We’re engaged now. I’m engaged.”

“Welcome home, soldiers,” Katie Love said. “We love you, thank you.”
