Pedestrian killed in Woodcroft crash: EPS

An 85-year-old man has died and police are looking for witnesses to the crash that killed him.

Edmonton police say the man was struck by a car while crossing 114 Avenue near 135 Street in a wheelchair around 2 p.m. on Oct. 21.

As the driver was heading east on the street, they hit the man and threw him out of his wheelchair.

The man was seriously injured. He died in hospital on Monday.

No information was released about the driver, but police said he was at the scene.

Police have not yet announced whether disability, speed or sunlight were factors in the accident.

Police are looking for witnesses or dashcam footage of the crash. Anyone with information should call police at 780-423-4567.
