Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk’s Office Goes Pink to Honor Colleagues

The Hamilton County Clerk of Criminal Court recently celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month by wearing pink. Deputy Clerks from all three offices came together to remember one of their own who lost her battle with breast cancer several years ago.

“Merri Cate was loved by everyone in the office. He fought a tough battle, even coming to work when some should have stayed home,” said Criminal Court Clerk Vince Dean. “Our office rallied around him then, and now we honor his memory.

“We also honor Debbie Cooper, who is shown in the photo to Mr. Trump,” officials said.

“The Dean is right, his treatment was recently completed and he received positive reports.”

“Having known Debbie for over 40 years, I knew she was a tough fighter. She completed her treatments and kept her smile. She remained positive and we expected nothing but positive results,” Mr Dean said. “We are now rallying around her and proudly wearing pink to support her courageous fight. She has that.”

The Clerk of Criminal Court office is where records of all criminal court proceedings are kept. It has three offices and 60 employees. Mr. Dean took over the position after leaving the Tennessee General Assembly in 2014.
