MONROE, Mich. (WTVG) – A 37-year-old Monroe man was arrested for stabbing a 59-year-old woman on Tuesday.

Troopers were dispatched to Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital to speak with a victim who had been stabbed multiple times, according to a Michigan State Police social media post.

Officers spoke with the victim and determined the stabbing was domestic violence and identified a suspect.

The teams found the suspect and interrogated him. Following an investigation, a 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder.

The woman who was stabbed was treated at the hospital where her condition was stable.

The identity of the suspect was not stated in the social media post.
